I can feel spring in the air! Yesterday was a balmy 41 degrees, the sky was incredibly blue and the sun was smiling down on our valley. You could actually see the mountains linger in the distance - which is one of the awesome sights living here. So, now, a list to help welcome in the season with style.
*Golden Skin
Lift your jaw up off of the floor. I am not condoning tanning… you know who you are. You can sweep a lovely sun kissed look over your face with one of the fabulous new aveda uruku bronzers in Bossa Sun, Brazilian Glow, or Amazonia. They give the perfect glow and the slightest hint of shimmer. Pair it with a subtle glossy pink lip like Amaranth or Grapefruit Pulp, plenty of mascara (still loving lots of lashes) and you are ready for your “From here to Eternity” moment.
*Red Lips
Vibrant shades of crimson are in again! If you haven’t dared before, you must at least try it now. There is a stunning shade of red to compliment every lip. Try Poppy, Cherrybud, or Butternut. To make it more beachy and subdued, gently tap the color on your lips and top with Crystal mint gloss – so fresh! For more intense glam, put it on directly and you are set. Plus, the aveda lip pigments are all natural and have peppermint which helps freshen breath.
*Orange and Caramel Nails
This season you will need polish to compliment the nude, ice-cream colors like peach, nutmeg, grey and a lot of white. Toes and short fingernails look so current in vibrant orange and gold tones. Try OPI “Bling Dynasty”, “Chop-sticking to my story”, or “Hot and Spicy”. Jessica’s spring collection is more subdued with feminine pastels…very pretty.
Current tones are platinum blonde and gentle reds. Try infusing your strands with wisps of these shades or be a vixen and commit your whole head! Keywords this season: Long, Slick, Wavy and Natural. Get inspired by styles from 40’s and 70’s. As for styling, try a naturally textured chignon or a loose rope braid off to one side with plenty of fringe. Knotted buns on the very top of your head are also in. Don't forget to accent with strands of bling, feathers, or bows!
Glitz – on your tights, around your neck, tied to your handbag…embrace the sparkle. Clogs are mentioned often and so are girly kitten heels. Flowy dresses and cuts are definitely in the works and the fabrics include sheer chiffon, touches of lace, tribal influences, garden florals, and plenty of white.
Enjoy these gorgeous days, as the snow melts into the frosty earth. Enjoy the crisp air on your face while the sun’s new rays warm your back. Soon, green buds will begin to emerge out of the quiet branches and we'll be in full swing spring! Have a beautiful day,
